Brigada Eskwela Initiatives:

Kind DonationSilay Institute donated hygiene kits and school supplies to Sibato Integrated School last September 15, 2021.

The donation was part of the Brigada Eskwela 2021 program with the theme: ” Bayanihan Para sa Paaralan” to support and assist the teachers in delivering quality education amidst this pandemic in their school community for the benefit of our IP learners.

SI also extended voluntary work by helping the parents and teachers of Sibato IS in the beautification and cleaning of their school as part of the said program.

 

Kaisa ang Silay Institute sa pagdiriwang!

Buwan ng LahiTaon-taon, sa buwan ng Agosto ay ginugunita ang pagdiriwang ng Buwan ng Wika. Ang gawaing ito ay naglalayon na pagtibayin at palaganapin ang kamalayan ng mga Pilipino sa pagpapahalaga sa ating sariling wika.

Ang tema ng Buwan ng Wikang Filipino 2021 ay “Filipino at mga Wikang Katutubo sa Dekolonisasyon ng Pag-iisip ng mga Pilipino.”

Ayon sa Komisyon ng Wikang Filipino “ ang temang ito ay pakikiisa ng Komisyon sa 2021 Quincentennial Commemorations in the Philippines ( 2021 QCP ) na kung saan ito ay pagdalumat sa mga mahahalagang kaganapan sa ating bansa sa nakaraang 500 na taon partikular na sa Kautusang Tagapagpaganap Bilang 103 na mahigpit na nagtatagubiling ang mga pagdiriwang ay nararapat na maging “ Filipino-centric “ na kung saan masasalamin sa mga Pilipino ang mga pananaw at nagbabantayog sa pag-unawa at damdamin ng pagmamalaki sa ating mga ninuno at mayamang pamanang kultural sa porma ng panitikan, wika, mga sining at iba pang manipestasyong kultural. Nararapat ding bigyang-diin nito ang pagkakilanlan ng mga Pilipino at kahalagahan ukol sa pagkakaisa, kahinahunan, at kalayaan.

Ang institusyong Silay Institute ay kaisa at kaagapay sa ganitong hangarin. Sinisigurado ng institusyong ito na maikintal, maisapuso at maisabuhay ng mga mag-aaral ang pagpapahalaga sa wika at panatilihing maaging maalab at marubdob ang pagmamahal sa bansang Pilipinas.

ADMITTANCE DAY 2021!

admittance day 2021To welcome the freshmen and new students of the SY 2021-2022, Silay Institute had its Admittance Day last August 27, 2021. The event was filled with activities where both new and old students participated. There were inter-level games, Tiktok challenge and talent showcase.

The said activity was also made possible through the support of the Supreme Student Government of Junior High School and Senior High School Departments and the Supreme Student Council of the College Department.

Third Place – Silay Institute

Short DocumentationSilay Institute won Third Place in the Short Documentary Contest on the IP/Peace Education Initiatives of Higher Education Institutions as part of the CHED’s celebration of the 54th ASEAN Founding Anniversary with the theme, “Padyak! Moving Forward, Claiming Victory for Philippine Higher Education in the ASEAN Community”.

SI together with the Sibato Bukidnon’s Tribe came up with this short documentary film that featured the latter’s traditions, customs and beliefs whilst showing the importance of education in shaping their lives as Indigenous People.

The said contest aimed to increase awareness and promote the importance of the integration of the Indigenous Peoples/Peace Education in the activities of higher education institutions.

General Orientation

General OrientationThe Office of the Student Affairs conducted the Virtual General Orientation for the SY 2021-2022 last August 16, 2021.

The orientation was for the freshmen and transferees to familiarize the general rules and regulations of the institution both in academic and social aspects under the new normal scheme of education.

JULY INSET

JULY INSETThe Silay Institute conducted a 2-day In- Service Training for Teachers last July 15-16, 2021 led by our partner BPO, ADEC. The said training aimed to strengthen teachers’ skills and knowledge that would equip them in facing yet another year of new normal scheme of education.

The activity started by the usual flow of the program followed by an inspirational message from Ms. Lilian Reventar, the school president.

The trainings focused on teachers as an Employees and Educators while covering the following:

  • Adhere to company guidelines
  • Observe statutory requirements
  • Share and work toward the company’s vision and goals
  • Adapt a customer service mindset
  • Moral Obligations of Educators
  • Parent-Teacher Classroom Management
  • Effective Classroom Management
  • Teaching strategies

  • Student Discipline

The INSET was very timely to the current education set-up where despite the suspension of face-face classes, teachers have to fulfill their obligations and maintain discipline to the students.

The informative lectures were given by our invited guest speakers Dr. Maria Mercedes Monsale of  CHED, Dr. Catherine Apusaga of DepEd, Mr. Neri Marasigan, and Ms. Maria Recelyn Marasigan of Adec Group.
